Living longer and better. The science and practice of a long, healthy life
Why Men Over 50 Should Be Building Their Life Around Making It to 100 and What That Standard Actually Demands
Most men over fifty have never seriously considered that they might live to one hundred. Not as a realistic planning horizon, not as a daily operating standard, not as something that has any meaningful bearing on the choices they make about how to eat, how to train, how to manage stress, how to invest in...
Making It to 100: The Daily Decisions That Either Build Toward It or Quietly Work Against It
The conversation about longevity tends to happen at the wrong level of abstraction. Men talk about wanting to live a long, healthy life. They read articles about centenarians. They think about their father's health history and what it might predict about their own. They hold the goal of living well and living long in a...
Preventive Health for Men Over 50: The Screenings and Tests That Are Not Optional
There is a pattern in the stories that oncologists and primary care physicians tell about men over fifty who receive serious diagnoses. The pattern is not the disease itself. It is the timeline. The man who felt completely well. The man who had not seen a physician in several years because nothing hurt and nothing...
The Annual Physical Every Man Over 50 Should Be Getting and What to Make Sure It Covers
The annual physical that most men over fifty are getting is not the annual physical they should be getting. This is not primarily a criticism of the healthcare system, though the system has genuine limitations. It is a description of a structural mismatch between what a reactive, symptom-oriented medical visit is designed to detect and...

About Chris McCarthy

I am Chris McCarthy. I turned fifty and made a decision I am going to spend the rest of my life executing: to do everything in my power to make it to one hundred, strong, sharp, productive, and fully alive. Not as a goal to hang on the wall. As a daily standard that determines every training session, every meal, every professional decision, and every relationship I invest in.

I wrote The Final 50 because there was no single resource that brought all of it together. The physical, the professional, the personal. Honest, practical, and built specifically for men at this stage of life. So I built it. The Final 50 is the complete framework. The operating system for the second half of a man’s life across all three pillars, built for the long game.

“This is not a solo mission. There are too many men right now arriving at fifty and quietly accepting a version of themselves they never intended to become. This site, this community, it exists to change that.”

Everything on this site, the research, the articles, the training content, the tools, grows directly from The Final 50 and from the work I am doing in real time as I navigate my own journey. This is a living resource. It builds as the journey builds. And it is a journey we do together.

Purchase The Final 50 and become part of the movement. The book is the foundation. Everything built on this site is what comes after.
